Looking to force the issue in next round of ironwoman series

YAMBA'S Alyce Bennett is placed 13th overall following the opening two rounds of the Nutri-Grain Ironwoman Series.

Competing for North Burleigh, she was 16th and 10th in rounds one and two, respectively, in the opening event held at Margaret River in Western Australia on Saturday and Sunday.

Former Sawtell junior Courtney Hancock won both rounds to take a commanding lead in the series.

Shannon Eckstein won the first round and leads the men's pointscore on 37 points from second-round winner Kendrick Louis (33) and Ky Hurst (32).

  • Rounds three, four and five will be held in Newcastle on Saturday and Sunday, December 14 and 15, with the sixth and final round at Coolum on Qld's Sunshine Coast on Sunday February 23.
