Working holiday a dream come true

ROXIE Whitton has been bitten by the travel bug, in less than a month she will be flying to America for a five-month working holiday.

The 22-year-old Grafton girl helps teach children to swim at the South Grafton pool on weekends and will use this experience when she starts work on a summer camp just one hour from New York.

“It will be a really good experience and a chance for me to get out of Australia, meet new people and help children learn to swim,” she said.

“It’s going to be good being so close to New York, I want to do a lot of travelling.”

Roxie recently travelled to Sydney for the annual Mardi Gras festival where she seen many colourful people and costumes.

“The parade was amazing and I got to watch international DJ Calvin Harris,” she said.

“It was definitely different to anything I would see in Grafton.”

When Roxie is not working at Vines she likes to go to the beach and spend time with friends and family.
