Maclean laps up great experience

A DOMINANT shooting performance by Chloe Bryant helped the Maclean Netball Club Bottom Pub down the young Illuka Mossy's Marlins 31-23 in the Lower Clarence Netball grand final on Saturday.

Bryant was awarded the player of the final award for her important role in the circle for the Maclean side.

Association secretary Tanya Kane said the experience of the Maclean players proved the difference.

"It really was a case of the experience of the Maclean side shining through on the day," Kane said.

"The Iluka side have some very talented players, and they played well, but the Maclean side was too strong all over the court."

Soon-to-be-Australian representative Nivarna Makings and North Coast Academy of Sport's Samantha Kerr were part of the losing Illuka Marlins side.

"It was a big crowd and a great atmosphere for the division one final, with many of the teams that played earlier in the day staying on to watch the big one," Kane said.
