Magazine article leads to arrest

A MAN wanted on NSW child abuse charges has been arrested in Ipswich after a member of the public recognised him from a magazine article.

Police arrested the man in Goodna on Tuesday following a recent national appeal for information on the man's whereabouts.

The 44-year-old is accused of committing several offences against girls aged 12 to 14 in western Sydney in 2009.

He has been refused bail to appear at Ipswich Magistrates Court on September 9 on unrelated charges, with police to seek his extradition to NSW once those matters have been dealt with.
