LOWER Clarence Magpies celebrated their first senior grade win of the season on Saturday.

Granted it was reserve grade, but the Magpies celebrated like it was a grand final when they beat Northern United 28-16.

First grade were on track for victory, but remarkably gave up a 22-14 halftime lead to go down 48-22.

Frank McGuren Field will host two Grafton Ghosts sides next week after reserve grade beat Sawtell Panthers 34-12 to progress to the major semi final.

First grade gained direct passage after winning the minor premiership, with both sides set to face Coffs Comets for a place in the grand final.
