RUGBY LEAGUE: There were some tough games played in Casino for the Group 1 Junior Rugby League grand finals, and the Clarence Coast Magpies celebrated winning two premierships.
The Under 10s and
11s were both victorious
in their grand finals, and won in contrasting fashions.
It was a thrilling finish in the U10s clash against Kyogle, with the scores even through the game until the Magpies
snatched victory in the last minute with Antwone Quinlin Randal going
in for his second try of the match to seal their 22-18 win.
The U11s started strong against Grafton and led by 22 points at half time.
Both teams scored a number of tries in the second half, with the final score showing the Magpies 46 defeated Grafton 24.
Unfortunately the Magpies U13s and U14s teams were beaten, but club secretary Kerry Lee said all players should be proud of their efforts this season.
"All teams played really well all season, so it's a big credit to all the players and coaches involved,” she said.
"There's a lot of talent down here, you see them at the park all the time playing footy, so we have a number of talent players who live and breathe their football.”
