ORGANISERS have hailed the North Coast Branch Surf Life Saving Championships at Minnie Water yesterday a huge success.

The host club handled the challenge of hundreds of competitors on the beach for the Branch's biggest meet of the year while featuring prominently in the results.

"We had fantastic success," Minnie Water-Wooli Surf Life Saving Club Nippers president Angela Hinterholzl said.

"It's been a beautiful day down here with perfect surf conditions and our club had had its best results ever. A lot of our competitors came first, second or third in their events and a lot of our guys went out to compete for the first time."

The wins for Minnie Water-Wooli included the under-9s defending the swim team title and placing first and third in the board relay and second and fourth in the beach relay. Comprehensive results will appear in tomorrow's DEX.
