Self awareness positively impacts all aspects of life
GYMPIE Yoga and Relaxation Centre's senior yoga teacher, counsellor and life skills trainer Gerry Hillier says developing self awareness would positively impact all aspects of life.
"Taking care of our mind, body and soul reduces levels of stress and anxiety," she said.
"A lot of people are suffering from stress, anxiety, panic and depression because of a variety of reasons, including grief, overwhelming lifestyle choices and health issues.
"People tend to look for quick fix options to cope with natural emotions, instead of learning to understand and overcome them, given the right tools."
Ms Hillier has been helping people around Australia recover from stress, anxiety, depression and illness for about three decades.
She said she also specialised in putting people in touch with their intuition and emotions, to help them find answers to their burning questions.
"Deep healing on any level of our body can only be achieved through an understanding of our inherent wholeness," Ms Hillier said.
"How can we bring ourselves to wholeness, when we do not truly understand what it is?
"By utilising our inner stillness, wisdom and strength, we gain deeper insights into our self and this is where healing begins."
Ms Hillier is a published author and the creator of workshop textbooks for yoga and healing classes.
She has 30 years of experience facilitating workshops and courses around Australia and has been invited to hold classes in Singapore a number of times in recent years.
Her Healing From Within workshops this month are ideal for people recovering from stress, anxiety, depression and illness, with each session offering skills and techniques to assist healing on a deep level.
