Man accused of toddler's murder faces Supreme Court
A COFFS Harbour man, charged with the murder of a toddler, has fronted the NSW Supreme Court.
Dressed in a sports tracksuit, Frederick Ernest Williams, sat with his head bowed in the Sydney dock on Friday morning.
Police allege Williams, 44, was caring for a two-year-old girl when she was admitted to Coffs Harbour Base Hospital on March 30 last year with serious head injuries.
She was airlifted to Westmead Children's Hospital where she later died.
A post mortem allegedly revealed the toddler had suffered severe head trauma including a fractured skull.
Williams was arrested last August.
He did not enter a plea on Friday and was remanded in custody until February 1 next year.
A trial date expected to be set on that day.
