Man allegedly stabbed, vehicle stolen in Yamba

A 42-YEAR-OLD man has allegedly been stabbed through the knee with a pair of scissors and had his vehicle stolen in Yamba.

Two men have been charged over the incident, which is believed to have occurred at Ngaru Village about 4.50pm yesterday.

According to police, ambulance paramedics responding to the incident saw a male driving a Toyota Hiace van around the village on arrival.

He then stopped the car and ran from police, but was arrested after a foot pursuit.

Two other men were also arrested at the scene.

A 28-year-old male and 27-year-old male, both from Yamba, have now been charged with aggravated robbery and wounding.

The 28-year-old has also been charged with a mid-range drink-driving offence and driving whilst disqualified.

Both have been bail refused and will appear before Grafton Local Court today.

The third male arrested at the scene has been released, pending investigation.

Coffs Clarence duty officer Inspector Tony Milner has confirmed the 42-year-old victim will require further medical treatment for his injuries.
