Man bashed with steel bar

A DOOF party at Kippenduff quickly turned into a disaster for a Bowraville man after he received a fractured skull when he was allegedly assaulted with a steel bar.

Richmond Local Area Command Inspector Doug Connors said the 27-year-old was approached by between five and eight men and hit across the face with a steel bar about 1am on Sunday morning.

The man was taken to Grafton Base Hospital before he was transferred to Lismore Base Hospital in a serious condition.

Anyone with any information about the assault is urged to call Lismore Police on 6626 0599 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
