A SECOND man has been charged over an 'extremely dangerous' meth lab that was set-up inside a Jetty high-rise unit block.

Police said a 31-year-old was charged with drug manufacture on Wednesday after he attended the Coffs Harbour Police Station.

Officers raided a unit in Victoria St last Monday and discovered the alleged drug lab and a quantity of drugs.

A 36-year-old man was arrested during the night-time bust.

The search warrant was executed on the unit after police spent some months monitoring the address.

The latest man charged over the crime has been refused bail and will appear in the Coffs Harbour Local Court today.

Coffs Clarence Crime Manager Cameron Lindsay said police were alarmed that the highly volatile drug set-up posed great danger to a large number of residents.

"It is a real concern for police to have something like this happen anywhere let alone in a residential building," Detective Inspector Lindsay said.
