Man charged over Ulmarra plumber’s death granted bail

THE man charged over the one-punch death of Ulmarra father Kyle Watkins has been granted bail.

According to the NSW Court Registry, Tyson Egan, 24, appeared at Coffs Harbour Local Court yesterday, where he was granted bail by Magistrate Walker.

Egan is charged with the unlawful killing of 26-year-old Mr Watkins, which allegedly happened during an altercation on a Coffs Harbour street on October 3 last year.

Police allege Egan struck Mr Watkins during the fight, which caused him to hit his head and fracture his skull, rendering him unconcious.

The Clarence Valley Council plumber died from his injuries in hospital on October 7.

After Watkins' death, the community raised more than $5000 for his one-year-old son

Egan is expected to reappear in court on April 12.
