Man dies in crash near Kyogle

A MAN has been killed in a single-vehicle car crash near Kyogle.

According to police, at about 8.50am today the man, believed to be in his mid 40s, was driving his Nissan utility vehicle along the Kyogle Rd at Cawongla near Kyogle when his car left the road and hit a tree.

Police from the Richmond Local Area Command and paramedics attended but the driver was declared dead at the scene – he was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The road was closed for a number of hours while police investigators examined the scene and a report is being prepared for the Coroner.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
