Man dies in rural road crash

 

A man has died in a single vehicle crash in the state’s north this morning.

 

About 8.50am, the man was driving his Nissan utility along Kyogle Road at Cawongla near Kyogle when it left the road and hit a tree.

 

Police from Richmond Local Area Command and paramedics went to the crash site but the man, aged in his mid 40s, was declared dead at the scene.

 

He was the only person in the vehicle.

 

Investigators examined the scene for several hours and will prepare a report for the Coroner.

 

Kyogle Road reopened a short time ago after being closed since the crash occurred.
