Man to face court over stabbing

A MAN will appear in Lismore Local Court facing two counts of malicious wounding following a stabbing in Lismore Heights today.

Police were called to a unit block in High Street about 2.30pm, where they located a 41-year-old man suffering a stab wound to his thigh, and lacerations to his arm and chest.

The man was taken to Lismore Base Hospital where he was treated and later released.

Police established a crime scene and inquiries were made.

A short time later, officers arrested a 68-year-old man and conveyed him to Lismore Police Station where he was interviewed and charged with two counts of malicious wounding.

He was given conditional bail and will appear in court on the 11 April.
