Man impaled at Bonville flown to Gold Coast by chopper

A MAN is in a critical but stable condition in Gold Coast University Hospital after being impaled on a star picket during what is believed to be a home renovation gone wrong at Bonville.

Around 1.20pm Sunday, NSW Ambulance paramedics attended the scene after it was reported the 45-year-old fell from a ladder and suffered his serious injuries.

An ambulance road team assessed the patient and transported him to Coffs Harbour Health Campus in a critical condition, where he received surgical treatment.

Following the treatment the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter organised the transport to the Gold Coast where he is now undergoing treatment.
