Man killed in ute crash

 

A man died after his utility hit a guard rail and rolled off a bridge at Bostobrick, 11km west of Dorrigo, on Saturday night.

 

Witnesses told police they were travelling east along Tyringham Road about 9.30pm when a westbound 1993-model Toyota Hilux utility hit a the rail and flipped off Little Murrays Bridge, falling 3m into the river.

 

Two men, aged 18 and 31 both from Dorrigo, entered the river in an attempt to rescue the driver but were unable to access the crushed cabin.

 

The body of man, believed to be aged 56, was found in the vehicle when it was lifted from the water some hours later.

 

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
