Man missing near Nimbin

POLICE are appealing for public assistance to locate a man reported missing in the state's Far North Coast.

Matthew Rogers, aged 23, was last seen entering bushland near Gungas Road in Nimbin yesterday (Wednesday 5 October 2011) afternoon.

Rogers went into thick bushland and his trail was lost after he entered a creek.

There are concerns for his welfare as his disappearance is described as being out of the ordinary and he has not made any contact with friends or family.

Police have conducted a preliminary search of the area but have so far been unable to locate him.

He is described to be of Caucasian appearance, 188cm tall with an athletic build, short curly brown hair and blue eyes.

He was last seen wearing long pants and two shirts.
