Man, woman hurt in three-car smash
PEAK-hour traffic was backed up late yesterday as police and emergency service workers cleaned up the debris from a three-car smash on Armidale Road, South Grafton.
It was not clear what happened in the collision – near the Five Mile Smash Repairs – but the three cars, a VR-X Mitsubishi Lancer with a green P-plate, an early model Ford Falcon utility and a small green car all received extensive damage and needed to be towed.
The collision occurred about 4.30pm and scores of vehicles, including a school bus, were caught in the traffic waiting for the wreckage to be cleared.
It is understood an 18-year-old woman was transported to Grafton Base Hospital with neck pain and a 27-year-old man was taken to hospital with seat belt injuries. Their condition was not considered to be serious.
