Cowboys fan predicts big win

MASSIVE North Queensland Cowboys fan Kate McBryde reckons her team is travelling beautifully ahead of tomorrow night's NRL semi-final against the Manly Sea Eagles in Sydney.

And the 20-year-old should know.

The Harvey World Travel Mt Pleasant consultant spends much of her time booking trips for Cowboys fans wanting to watch the rugby league team's home games in Townsville.

When she gets the opportunity, she also likes to make the trip north to Townsville herself.

"My whole family are huge supporters; we always have been," Ms McBryde said.

"I'll usually go up with my brother and sister.

"We make a (real) trip out of it and head up Friday evening and spend the night at Rydges."

A work colleague's wedding this weekend meant she didn't consider travelling to Sydney to support her team in tomorrow night's crunch final, but she will watch the game at home with her family.

Although some experts have tipped the Sea Eagles to have a stronger squad, Ms McBryde wouldn't have a bar of any such talk.

"It will be a close game but they (Cowboys) were in good form against the Broncos," she said.

Ms McBryde's opinion is worth listening to as she won fourth place in her office's footy tipping competition last year.

"I have a co-worker who goes for the Broncos... so we are always head-to-head," she said.

The Cowboys are coming off the back of their 33-16 win against the Brisbane Broncos, but will lose their home-ground advantage when they take on the Sea Eagles at Allianz Stadium in Sydney.

Yesterday bookies were having a difficult time splitting the two in betting.
