Mel B’s ex ‘made kids watch IS videos’

MEL B has accused her ex-husband Stephen Belafonte of showing their daughter and her other children videos of Islamic State beheadings.

According to the New York Post, the former Spice Girl made the claim in court documents she filed to block Belafonte's visitation with her daughters, The Blast reported - an allegation that Mel B's eldest daughter corroborated.

Phoenix (from the star's prior relationship with Jimmy Gulzar), 19, wrote in a declaration, "He got us all to watch men being beheaded with chainsaws by ISIS, as we were in the kitchen and he was cooking.

"I never bonded with Stephen because he would call me names such as 'retarded' and 'stupid,'" Phoenix's declaration continued. "He would do things which upset me … He would be very aggressive with Angel [Mel B's 10-year-old daughter with Eddie Murphy] and Maddie [Belafonte's only biological child with Mel B] if they broke the 'rules,' like talking when he was on the phone. He would just yell really up close to them."

Mel B claimed that Angel was "scared and frightened" at being exposed to the images Belafonte presented and has since sought therapy.

Belafonte, 42, initially applied for step-visitation with Angel in August 2017, with his lawyer arguing that Belafonte "has been the parent that has raised this minor child since an infant". Murphy, 56, initially denied paternity of Angel when she was born until DNA tests proved he was her biological father.

Mel B, 42, claimed in court documents obtained by The Blast that during their tumultuous and troubled marriage, Belafonte prohibited her from having any sort of relationship with Murphy. She also alleged that prior to her divorce from Belafonte, she attempted to set up a meeting for Murphy and Angel, but that Belafonte took her phone while she was asleep and sent messages to Murphy's assistant.

Mel B didn't specify what the messages said, but argued, "As a result of Stephen's actions, Angel's father cancelled the visitation and did not want to have any interactions with Stephen … [Belafonte's] childish action only sought to delay Angel's unification with her biological father."

Despite Belafonte's alleged efforts, however, Mel B says that Murphy and Angel have since reconnected.

In March 2017, Mel B accused Belafonte of physically abusing and sexually exploiting her, as well as impregnating their nanny. The nanny, Lorraine Gilles, currently is suing the star for defamation of character.

Mel B also alleged that Belafonte drugged her throughout her marriage and recorded 56 sex videos of her, some including threesomes, without her consent.

Belafonte vehemently denied all allegations of abuse; Mel B rescinded her domestic violence protective order against Belafonte in November 2017.
