Money disappears from accounts of MH370 passengers

FOUR passengers aboard the lost MH370 flight that disappeared en route from Malaysia to Beijing in April, have had thousands stolen from their accounts.

The Mirror reports $111,000 Malaysian ringgit or AUD$37,000, was withdrawn at an ATM in Kuala Lumpur on July 18.
A formal complaint followed on August 2 after the bank noticed the activity.

City Commercial Crime Investigation Department chief Asst Comm Izany Abdul Ghany said authorities were yet to rule out an "inside job" at the bank, but stressed all angles would be investigated.

"We are getting CCTV footage from the bank to identify the suspects involved," he told The Mirror.

The Malaysia Airlines flight disappeared carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew, including six Australian nationals.

The Boeing 777 is thought to have crashed in the southern Indian Ocean off Western Australia.
