More hands needed for meals on wheels

EIGHTY Clarence Valley volunteers already put up their hands to help out with Meals on Wheels, but there's always room for more.

Grafton Meals on Wheels manager Rhonda Raven said volunteers only needed to commit a couple of hours a month to the organisation which delivers meals to the homes of elderly people and those with disabilities.

"They can go on a run (delivery) or do two-and-a-half hours in the kitchen," she said.

"The run is only about an hour-and-a-half."

Mrs Raven said Meals on Wheels could deliver to people who lived out of town.

The Grafton Meals on Wheels AGM is on Tuesday, September 18 at 7pm, at Westward Park, Netball Hall in Bacon St.

RSVP by September 11.
