MOST of the time when we ask readers to send in photos of pets, we get plenty of cats and dogs.

They are, after all, furry, cuddly and cute. They cuddle up to you on a cold night and wag their tail when you get home.

But that’s not what everyone wants in a pet.

Some people look for something a bit different.

This week we asked our Facebook followers to send in their photos of reptiles.

While some were of reptiles found in the wild, there are obviously lots of people out there who prefer scaly skin to fur.

Snakes might not be the cuddliest creatures – although pythons maybe like to get a little too attached – but they are interesting, look amazing and is there anything softer and smoother than their skin?

Like any pet, however, they take plenty of care.
