Man, 69, in tractor accident

A NYMBOIDA man, 69, suffered damaged vertebrae in his neck and extensive facial injuries following a tractor accident on his property on Sunday morning.

It is unknown exactly what the man was doing at the time of the incident, but one emergency worker said he may have been towing something before being struck to the side of the face and the back of the head with a ‘sway bar’ – a metal device used sometimes to stabilise trailers.

The man, who was found unconscious by his son shortly after 9am, was taken to Grafton Base Hospital before being flown to Gold Coast Hospital by Westpac Rescue Helicopter about 5pm on Sunday.
