Grafton Saleyard has no beef with new canteen boss

SANDRA Bromby has large shoes to fill taking over the Grafton Saleyard canteen from Phymie Burley.

But as all the cattle farmers tell her, she has 31 years to memorise how they take their coffee.

Ms Burley recently retired from running the saleyard canteen after more than three decades.

"When someone has been here for that long, the customers are pretty set in how they like their coffee," Mrs Bromby said.

"But it is pretty nice working here and the customers are great.

"They are all easy going people."

Mrs Bromby has run the canteen for two months now.

"It is a captive audience here," she said.

"People don't have time to go anywhere.

"They want to grab something quick so they can watch the next sale."

Mrs Bromby grew up in Yamba and was one of the founders of the Plantation Organic Bakery at Tyndale.

After she sold the bakery Mrs Bromby bought Fast Food 4 U on Armidale Rd, South Grafton.

"So we have been at it for a while," Mrs Bromby said.

She also employs Shay-Lee Warren.

"Sandra is amazing with names," Ms Warren said.

But Mrs Bromby said it was easier to remember orders.
