New government website aimed at helping local businesses

A NEW state government website will make it easier for local businesses to win NSW Government contracts.

Clarence MP Chris Gulaptis is encouraging local small business operators to use the website, which he said would make the process easier.

"The Liberal and Nationals Coalition has implemented major reforms to the Government's procurement policy, all designed to make doing business with the public sector more accessible to small business, particularly in regional NSW," Mr Gulaptis said.

"For example, government agencies are now required to seek at least one quote from a small-to-medium enterprise for contracts worth up to $1 million.

"I am very keen to see small businesses in the Clarence and Richmond Valleys winning more of these contracts."
