New Home and Away star revealed at Bundy ball
UNFORTUNATE circumstances will have Home and Away actress Olivia Deeble not able to attend Bundaberg's most prominent ball this weekend.
Deeble, 16, was rushed to hospital with brain swelling after hitting her head at the beginning of the month.
She suffered a concussion and was not able to fly until given medical clearance.
But this misfortune will give Bundaberg the first glimpse of a new Home and Away celebrity, before she hits the television screens around the nation.
Ability Ball organiser Trevor Sands was devastated to hear the news about Deeble, but said with one phone call he ensured the public wouldn't be disappointed.
"I rang Colby (Tim Franklin) straight away and he said he knew someone who would be perfect," Mr Sands said.
"And what made it even more perfect was the actress used to be a disability support worker before she was an actress."
The replacement for Deeble is Courtney Miller, she is set to play the role of Bella on the soapie.
"At this stage we have all heard about Bella, who is Colby's lost sister on the show," Mr Sands said.
"But she won't appear on the show until next month."
Mr Sands said the popular annual event was a sell out and he urged anyone who was not able to make it on Saturday night to give him a call.
"We have filled the Multiplex and sold all 500 tickets," he said.
"We do have a waiting list of people and we'd love for them to be able to go along."
Along with Miller, Home and Away fans will have the chance to mingle with Tim Franklin, who plays Colby on the drama.
The Ability Ball is an event for all members of the community to come together and celebrate all abilities.
"Our aim is to provide a genuinely inclusive opportunity for people to enjoy a night of food, dancing and entertainment, while promoting awareness and understanding of the valuable contribution people with disability make to our local community," Mr Sands said.
The night will include live entertainment, dinner and will kick off at 6pm at the Multiplex.
