New ‘student’ caught wagging on first day
THE students of Nymboida Public School were left laughing after being caught out in an April Fool's Day prank this morning.
The class and staff were excited to hear a prospective new student would be visiting the school to have a look around.
Year 6 student Kasey Broderick was introducing his cousin Patricia to the classroom.
Seven-year-old Patricia was very shy and nervous in front of a crowd, he told them, so everyone had to close their eyes while waiting for her to enter the room.
Patricia even arrived looking the part in a uniform she borrowed from cousin Kasey.
It took a few moments and a wagging tail for the reality to sink in that they had all been pranked.
Year 4 student Jackson Hartley cleverly suggested that Patricia could be the new 'teacher's pet'.
Thank you to Patch, Kasey and mum Debbie Repschlager for the children's giggles and squeals of delight, heard throughout the school, as Mrs Butcher reluctantly put away the new enrolment pack.
