Newcastle steals vital point against Liverpool
Rafael Benitez' return to Anfield was a pretty happy one as he saw his Newcastle side fight back from 2-0 down to earn a 2-2 draw against Liverpool in the English Premier League.
The point pulled the Magpies level on points with Sunderland and a point behind Norwich (outside the relegations spots), who both played overnight.
Newcastle is still second from bottom but the comeback would have boosted confidence that Benitez' team can avoid the drop.
Daniel Sturridge scored after 76 seconds and Adam Lallana doubled the lead as the Reds bossed the first half.
But Papiss Cisse's header just seconds after the break and Jack Colback's deflected shot drew Newcastle level.
It was Newcastle's first point on the road in 2016 and only the fifth point picked up all season away from home.
Eden Hazard (2) scored his first goals of the season as Chelsea defeated Bournemouth 4-1.
Manchester City moved to third with a 4-0 win over Stoke.
Arsenal had the chance to reclaim third with a win over Norwich overnight. Aston Villa's woes continued with a 10th straight EPL loss, this time at home to Southampton 4-2.
Meanwhile, Manchester United will equal the record of 19 FA Cup final appearances after defeating Everton 2-1 in the semi-final at Wembley.
Marouane Fellaini gave United the lead against his old club before a Chris Smalling own goal on 75 minutes drew the Toffees level.
Anthony Martial's goal in the 93rd minute settled the tie to set up a final against Crystal Palace or Watford who played overnight in the other semi.
