North Coast cops to be honoured at Sydney ceremony

NORTH Coast cops in New South Wales who have gone the extra mile to help out their community will be honoured at a gala ceremony in Sydney later this year.

People who have had positive dealings with the local boys and girls in blue have from now until September 27 to get their nominations in for the Rotary Police Officer of the Year Awards.

Nominations are open for sworn police officers, employees and volunteers who have displayed "outstanding dedication and diligence in their service to local communities".

NSW Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione said the panel wanted to hear from anyone who had experienced, "good communication, innovation or problem solving".

Winners will be announced at Darling Harbour on Friday, November 8.
