North Coast misses out on grand final spot

NORTH Coast has finished fourth after going down to country rival North West in its final clash of the New South Wales Combined High Schools Open Boys Cricket Championships played at Bathurst yesterday.

After winning the toss, North Coast took a gamble and sent the opposition in. It started to pay off as Maclean High School's Harrison Nicholson (3 for 25 off 7) took two wickets in his opening two overs with the new ball. However, North West began to take control and was eventually all out off the last ball of its 50-over innings for 210.

Maclean High's Zac Honeybrook (31) and Lachlan Johnson (10) opened the batting in North Coast's innings of 172.
