One Night Stand with Cold Chisel worth travelling for

WHILE it may be a trek to see the Clarence-bred Don Walker and his band of merry Chisel men on their 2015 tour later this year, if the fan frenzy they are creating so far is anything to go by, it'll be worth it.

Cold Chisel's One Night Stand show set for Sydney in December provoked a ticketing frenzy. The first concert (Dec. 18) at the iconic Qantas Credit Union Arena was sold out within minutes and the second date (17th) at that venue was announced and sold out a day later.

This initial allocation went to their fan club only, followed by a limited MyTicketek Pre-Sale.

The response to both was phenomenal - outstripping any on sale in the band's history including 2011's "Light The Nitro" concerts. That tour went on to become one of the most successful in the history of Australian rock'n'roll with sales of more than 300,000 tickets.

The band has been completely blown away by the fan reaction to these two special shows.

"I remember when we sold out the original Last Stand gigs at this venue back in 1983 but none of us ever imagined that so many people would still be queuing up for tickets over 30 years later," said the group's front man Jimmy Barnes. "We don't take any of it for granted - we're gonna reward all that faith with some killer gigs."

Further shows across the country have now been locked in and went on sale to the general public yesterday ( http://www.coldchisel.com for details). Obviously there won't be much time to dilly-dally in purchasing these tickets either.

The closest gigs to the North Coast are at Gold Coast for V8 Supercars event on October 24, Decades Festival in Strathpine Brisbane on October 31 and the Hunter Valley's Hope Estate on December 12.
