Opals up for grand final challenge from Redmen

THIS year's season is finally coming to an end and the Grafton Netball Association is expecting to go out with a bang.

Our upcoming grand final weekend will showcase a range of competitive and intense netball matches as teams ready themselves for the last battle to determine their ultimate ranking for this season.

With eight out of 10 grand finals being rematches of semi-final games, this is going to be a huge Saturday of netball.

Tucabia Opals have shown us what they are truly capable of and have earned a spot in this weekend's A1 division grand final against Redmen Aussie Steakhouse.

Steakhouse will be chomping at the bit to get this game underway and repeat their semi-final win against Opals. Both teams will have all players on deck so it will go down to the wire in a hard-fought game.

We wish all of our teams the best of luck and can't wait to congratulate those who have been victorious in our 2014 competition.

All executive and representative coaching positions are open for nomination in order to select our GNA team for 2015. These nominations should be in before the monthly meeting on September 15.

Congratulations to all those girls who over the last two Sundays came to rep trials and now have made their way into our 12yrs to 17yrs rep squad teams. The girls will have some time off before heading into intensive training which will take them into the final selection phase on October 22.

Dates for squad training: Wed Oct 8, 4.30-6pm; Sun Oct 12, 4-5.30pm, Wed Oct 15, 4.30-6pm, Sun Oct 19, 4-5.30pm.

If you are unable to attend any of these sessions, contact Brooke or the respective squad coach.

If there are any girls turning 12 years in 2015 interested in playing in the rep team, we are still taking names. Either come see us at control on Saturday or call Brooke on her mobile: 0437 426 070.
