Origin U20 pair banned after match probe
RUGBY LEAGUE: Two New South Wales U20 players have been hit with two-match bans from incidents in Saturday night's Origin clash against their Queensland counterparts.
Wests Tigers youngster Mitchell Moses yesterday visited Rugby League Central to identify himself as the player who made a homophobic slur to Queensland lock Luke Bateman.
Moses (pictured) was charged with breaching the league's anti-vilification policy, and the NRL's head of football, Todd Greenberg, said the star playmaker would be required to undergo an anti-vilification education and awareness program.
NSW teammate Matt Lodge will miss two weeks with an early guilty plea after being charged with detrimental conduct for having an inappropriate word written on tape on his arm. The Melbourne Storm youngster also faces missing another week for a grade one striking charge.
