Oz Lotto jumps to $70 million prize after jackpot unclaimed

OZ Lotto players will vie for a massive $70 million jackpot next week after last night's $50 million prize was left unclaimed.

The huge prize, the largest in Australia this year follows six weeks of jackpotting.

While the $50 million first division prize eluded players tonight, more than 830,000 prizes were won across Australia in divisions two to seven, with winners sharing in a total prize pool of $17.5 million.

Tatts Lotto spokesperson Elissa Lewis said excitement is building throughout the nation as the Oz Lotto jackpot grows.

"Around the country, 830,000 Oz Lotto players won a prize in tonight's draw, but millions of players are now dreaming of sharing in the $70 million jackpot next Tuesday," Ms Lewis said.

"With Christmas just around the corner, our players are imagining how winning Oz Lotto's $70 million jackpot would change their lives and allow them to share their good fortune with those around them.

"The most common response we hear from division one lotto winners in Australia is that they plan on helping their friends and family with their prize money, and many of our winners choose to donate a portion of their prize money to charity," Ms Lewis added.

"Oz Lotto changes lives year-round, but winning the $70 million jackpot prize this festive season would be an extra special experience."

The numbers drawn tonight in Oz Lotto draw 1034 were 35, 20, 38, 11, 42, 9 and 43 with the
supplementary numbers 32 and 8.

The mammoth $70 million Oz Lotto draw will take place on Tuesday, December 17, and it is anticipated that around one third of the Australian adult population will purchase an entry for the chance to share in $70 million.
