Pace in the game can upset 36ers, says Crocs coach

PRESSURE defence will be the key to Townsville upsetting the second-placed Adelaide 36ers in tonight's NBL clash in north Queensland.

That, and Crocs import Josh Pace.

Coach Shawn Dennis said despite him averaging 20.3 points in Townsville's wins this season, the former Syracuse star had largely flown under the radar.

"No one ever talks about Pace," the coach said.

"Down the stretch we can throw him the ball and he makes great decisions, and I think people need to realise he's a hell of a player and he's a winner."

In tonight's other game, the NZ Breakers travel to Perth to tackle the Wildcats in a repeat of last season's final series.

Tomorrow night Wollongong hosts Sydney and the 36ers back up against the Taipans in Cairns.

Round nine wraps on Sunday with Melbourne at home to the Breakers.
