Paedophiles may have met on day William Tyrrell vanished

TWO convicted paedophiles considered "persons of interest" in the investigation into how four-year-old William Tyrrell disappeared, may have spent time together on the day he vanished.

NewsCorp is reporting the family of convicted child abuser Tony Jones say he may have met up with convicted paedophile Paul Bickford when William disappeared.

Jones would return home drunk later that day.

Jones has previously told police he was collecting scrap metal in the bush when the boy vanished.

Both men have denied any part of William's disappearance.

NSW Police have declined to discuss the pair's involvement in their investigation, saying it was not appropriate to discuss who is, or isn't considered a person of interest.

William Tyrrell vanished from the balcony of his grandmother's home at 10.30am on September 12.

At the time he was wearing a Spider-Man costume.
