Pair to face court in drugs case

A SOUTH Grafton couple, each facing 45 charges of dealing in methylamphetamines and cannabis, will be back in court again in the new year.

Virginia Jacqueline Simpson, 39, and Mathew John Williams, 42, have been remanded in custody after they were arrested during a police raid on their home in Margaret Crescent on Friday.

The raid was the culmination of a six-month investigation by Strike Force Coosada into the ongoing supply of methylamphetamine and cannabis in the Clarence Valley.

Police conducted a simultaneous raid at Arthur St, Grafton, but no details have been released about that operation.

Yesterday Simpson and Williams appeared by video link in the Grafton Local Court.

Their cases were adjourned to January 13, 2014. Bail was not applied for.

Neither of the accused has entered a plea to the charges.
