Pedestrian hit in high speed collision on Pacific Highway

UPDATE 8.07am: ALL lanes of the Pacific Highway are now open following a serious crash this morning.

 

UPDATE: A MAN, believed to be 48 years-old man has been injured in a high speed collision on the Pacific Highway at 5.50am this morning.

The man is conscious, but suffering from multiple injuries.

He is still being treated on scene, and has suffered head, spinal, pelvic injuries and multiple lacerations.

It is believed the man was walking on the highway near Tamarind Drive when he was hit by a vehicle in a 110km/h zone.

Four ambulances and the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter were tasked the scene.

Northbound lanes of Pacific Highway closed

ALL northbound lanes of the Pacific Highway are closed at Tintenbar due to a crash involving a pedestrian between Bruxner Highway and Ross Lane.

Northbound traffic is being diverted via River Street, Kerr Street, Bangalow Road, Angels Beach Drive, The Coast Road, Ross Lane to return back to Pacific Highway.

Emergency services and traffic crews are on site and a helicopter is on the way.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution, allow extra travel time and follow directions of traffic crews.
