Pedestrian killed on highway

Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident on the NSW north coast.

About 3.40pm, a man was hit by a truck on the Pacific Highway, Tweed Heads, near the intersection of Tweed Valley Way.

He died at the scene.

One lane has been closed northbound and there are extensive delays.

Northbound motorists are urged to take an alternate route.

Southbound traffic is not affected.

Crime scene police from Lismore are in attendance and a report will be prepared for the Corner.
