Pedophile who bought baby boy for sex with men jailed

QUEENSLAND pedophile Peter Truong, who bought a baby boy and then took him around the world to have sex with other men, has been jailed for 30 years.

Truong, originally from Cairns, bought the newborn for $US8000 ($8784) from a woman in a foreign country, believed to be Russia.

The abuse began just days after his birth and over six years the couple travelled the world, offering him up for sex with at least eight men, recording the abuse and uploading the footage to an international syndicate known as the Boy Lovers Network.

''Personally .. I think this is probably the worst [paedophile] rings ... if not the worst ring I've ever heard of,'' investigator Brian Bone of the US Postal Inspection Service told reporters outside the US federal court room in Indiana in July.

The 36-year-old faced a 40 year sentence but he struck a plea deal with prosecutors which provided for a minimum of 24 years.

US District Court judge Sarah Evans Barker, noted Truong's willingness to work with authorities to lead them to other pedophiles and his own history as a childhood abuse victim.

Truong's partner, Mark Newton, 42, also from Queensland, was jailed in June for 40 years.
