Kerryn hooked on Clarence life

HAVING met her husband Leon for the first time while serving behind a Melbourne bar, Kerryn Perkins told a friend ‘I’m going to marry him’.

Needless to say the pub became Leon’s favourite.

“And he was my favourite customer,” she said yesterday after sharing 25 years of marriage and raising two daughters with him.

The couple moved to Grafton seven months ago from Tasmania to manage The Quality Inn, Grafton and the Key Lodge, Kerryn said.

“We’re really blessed here, we enjoy the job and love the staff and we have a great boss,” she said.

“Leon has joined the golf club, he doesn’t get to play enough, and we’ve bought a little boat so the river and beaches are big for us.

“But I just love the people, they are so welcoming and they have that country charm.

“We are very impressed with Grafton and we have lived many places... Melbourne, Armidale, Muswellbrook, Kangaroo Valley, Bateman’s Bay, the Gold Coast and Launceston.”
