Picture yourself with dirtgirl
THE international hit children's show dirtgirlworld has made it a snap to have any of the show's main characters in a picture with you.
Show creator Cate McQuillen, from Whiporie, said the show had just released a free camera app for the iPhone and iPad, which allowed the photographer to play scrapboy or dirtgirl in the frame.
"Scrapboy or dirtgirl from dirtgirlworld can join the happy snaps in your world," Ms McQuillen said.
"On a walk, in the garden, playing or smiling as big as you can, put them into your picture… joining you as you get outside and get grubby."
To promote the app there is a competition where the best photograph will win a visit from dirtgirl.
"To kick things off we have an amazing competition. It's easy peasy to enter," she said.
"Send a happy snap from your place and you could win a visit at your place to help you plant a garden."
Fans of dirtgirl will have a chance to meet her in person later this month when she hosts a workshop day at Bunnings in South Grafton on September 22.
Ms McQuillen said the dirtgirl had crossed from the virtual world into the real world with the introduction of a real character, played by former Grafton girl Maree Lowe.
She said fans could meet the 'real' dirtgirl for the first time at the workshop.
"We always think of Grafton and the Clarence Valley first," Ms McQuillen said.
"That's why we're introducing dirtgirl for the first time here."
