SIX little piggies won't be going to the market or eating roast beef as they descend on the Maclean Hotel this week for a race day like you've never seen before.

Kev Kiley of Noah's Farm will bring his little porkers down from Wheatvale, Queensland for the day to do what they do best.

Dressed in sequinned jackets, these thoroughbred piglets will sprint around the obstacle course, jumping hay bales, through hoops and up ramps on their quest to slam their snouts in a bowl of milk.

Maclean Hotel licensee Phil Cardwell encouraged everyone to head to the pub from 4pm Friday to witness the Melbourne Cup of pig racing and help raise money for a good cause.

"All money raised will go to the Ladies Auxiliary Committee, who will purchase a patient lifter and give it to the Maclean Hospital," Mr Cardwell said.

Live entertainment and raffles will be happening all afternoon and there are a heap of prizes donated by local businesses up for grabs.

"It's the first time Maclean has seen anything like this," Mr Cardwell said.

"The fact it's school holidays and for a great charity means it should be a fun day.

"It should be a big hit for a good country town."

There will be a host of races from about 4pm, so head to the pub and pick a porker for a good cause.
