Big River Pizza’s Brendan Albert is ready for the grand final rush.

GRAFTON'S Big River Pizza and Yamba's Sassafras Pasta and Pizza are anticipating a big weekend of deliveries as footy fever takes hold.

Big River Pizza owner Brendan Albert expects a busy weekend due to football finals.

"Judging by last year's grand final it should be busy, especially with deliveries," he said.

Brendan's NRL team, the Parramatta Eels did not make the grand final but he will be backing the Manly Sea Eagles for the win.

That's if he makes it out of the shop in time to catch the end of the game.

Down river, Rod Gardiner of Sassafras Pasta & Pizza in Yamba also predicts a busy weekend with locals and tourists.

"No one will want to move," said Rod, referring to the Grand Final weekend going hand in hand with heightened requests for pizza deliveries.

Rod's AFL team didn't make the finals, but Rod will be supporting the Geelong Cats on Saturday.

With grand final weekend upon us, pizza is on the menu for footy punters no matter the code. And both pizza joints have weekend specials to tantalise even the hardest of football fans.
