Playground mums plea for action gets council hearing

THE CALL for an upgrade to Grafton's Jacaranda Park playground, made by a group of local mums, has been welcomed by Clarence Valley Council.

Works and civil director Troy Anderson said the council would be happy to work with the playground group.

"It's great to see a group like this working to improve facilities for children," he said.

"Providing children's play and recreational facilities was adopted as one of our core responsibilities in the council's 10-year strategic plan, so we will help in any way we can."

The Daily Examiner has received more than 60 responses to an informal Facebook survey asking readers what they wanted in their community playground.
