Abducted boy, 2, found safe and sound 800km away

A TWO-year-old boy abducted by his mother from the northern Brisbane suburb of Zillmere on Sunday has been found safe and well, Police have confirmed.

The boy was found at an address in Merriwa, New South Wales about 3.15pm.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.

Queensland Police Service thanked those who shared the Child Abduction Alert to their friends and other contacts.

Earlier today, Fairfax reported the mother was visiting her son, who lives with his grandparents, about midday on Sunday.

She was seen taking the boy from the Beams Road house and then walking him to the nearby Centro Taigum Shopping Centre, police said.
