Hunt on for man who approached teenager

POLICE are appealing for information after a teenage girl was approached by a man at Brooms Head.

About 3.30pm on Boxing Day, a 13-year-old girl was at Back Beach with her father when she went for a swim.

As the girl got out of the water she was approached by a man who wanted to take a photo of her.

The girl refused and grabbed her belongings before running to her father.

The man ran off through the headland where he was seen getting into a dark blue hatchback with red P-plates.

Police from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command are investigating the incident and looking for the man who is of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 30s, 180cm tall with a thin build and wearing sunglasses, a turquoise blue t-shirt and maroon three-quarter length shorts.
